The 4th China Light Aircraft Championship concluded successfully in Qingyuan, Guangdong Province, China on April 12, 2026.
A team flying the Aurora SA60L , developed by Chinese aerospace manufacturer Starair, entered the competition. Of the top 24 pilots in the overall tournament standings, 50% of the award-winning pilots piloted this very model.
Hosted by the Aviation Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Aero Sports Federation of China (ASFC), the event is the highest-level professional light aircraft competition in China. It brought together 25 competing teams, 52 pilots and 17 racing aircraft from across the country.

The competition featured two core events: Pilotage Flight and Precision Landing, which set extremely stringent requirements for the aircraft's handling accuracy, flight stability and environmental adaptability.
The Aurora SA60L adopts full carbon fiber composite material and boasts a superior aerodynamic layout, delivering precise and agile handling as well as exceptional flight stability, fully withstanding the rigorous challenges of the competition. Jiangsu Yahua General Aviation of China also piloted this model to complete the opening flight show of the tournament, which became a standout highlight of the event.

According to official data released by Starair, cumulative deliveries of the Aurora SA60L have exceeded 400 units, and the model holds a 75% market share in China's domestic market for aircraft of the same category, firmly establishing itself as the definitive best-selling homegrown light aircraft in China.
